Lucy Hodgson
Lucy founded The Great Recruitment Company in 2016. Her experience of recruitment spans from working with smaller owner managed, entrepreneurial businesses to large listed companies, mid tier and Top 10 accountancy firms. She focuses predominantly on advising on people strategy and strategically important Partner, Director, and Senior Manager appointments. She has helped more than a thousand people shape successful, happy careers, and hundreds of clients shape and improve the experiences of their employees. Lucy combines a degree in politics with the strategic thinking of her early career in marketing and 25 years in recruitment, search and consultancy to provide considered, high quality advice.
Away from work Lucy lives with her partner, their young daughter, and Labradors which she enjoys training. She is a Francophile, keen gardener and musician, enjoys traditionally re-upholstering furniture, cookery and long country walks. She is also a year rep for UWC Atlantic and remains an active member of the UWC Community.
Jim Baxter
Jim is an independent executive recruiter working with The Great Recruitment Company to support our clients. Jim has spent in excess of 30 years in the recruitment industry where he has built a justifiably excellent reputation both for his outstanding listening skills and his ability to recruit, motivate and manage diverse teams with compassion and empathy. His experience of recruitment ranges from working with smaller owner managed businesses and delivering on intricate search assignments to running more diverse programmes for larger listed companies including setting up complex Recruitment Process Outsourcing on behalf of fast growing and global businesses. He is equally at ease with both, and deals with a wide range of appointments, motivated by the opportunity to make a difference.
Away from work, Jim is married and father to five wonderful children as well as being an experienced foster carer. He is a trained volunteer business mentor for the entrepreneurial community, mediator and Counsellor in Training (CPCAB). He loves the outdoors, the arts, sport and good food.
